We were contacted by the Park Hotel Tynemouth at the beginning of 2018 as they began a major refurbishment of the entire building, bedrooms, bar / restaurant area and eventually reception & event areas.

There was already a simple network in place, it was clear from the outset that trying to ‘upgrade’ the current solution was simply not going to work.

In this particular project we were able to use any empty office / back room to become the main server room. Additionally the new ‘comms room’ is in the centre of the building meaning that no cable run would be greater than 90m.

Working with the hotel’s management team and building site manager we planned the data network  runs and number of network points required around the building.

From the outset of this project our network design philosophy was not just about today’s requirements but what might be need in the next 3 -5 years.

Thinking further ahead, we planned for a new CCTV solution along with a new till system and PCI compliant Wi-Fi.
